Good to know

The education section brings together school-subject tutors, language courses, driving instructors, music, sport and vocational training. The market has gone fully hybrid: online formats equalized prices between cities and opened access to the country's best teachers. People choose by three signals: a specific goal (exam prep, conversational English, driving from zero), reviews, and a trial lesson.

For teachers: a listing with a sharp specialization beats 'math tutor for everyone'. Say who you work with (grades 5–9, exam prep, adults from zero), the format and the price per 60 minutes, students' results in numbers. A one-minute video intro multiplies conversion: your voice and way of explaining are what students actually 'buy'.

Questions & answers

How do I choose a tutor for my child?

A trial lesson (often free or half price) shows more than any credentials. Ask about experience with your exact goal: exam prep and 'catching up in 7th grade' are different skills.

Online or in person — which works better?

For languages and programming, online is just as good; for younger schoolkids, in-person holds attention better. Online saves the commute and widens your choice to the whole country.

How much does an hour with a tutor cost?

A student tutor is cheaper, an experienced exam-prep teacher costs more, a native speaker most of all. Packages of 8–10 lessons usually cut the hourly rate by 10–20%.

Individual lessons or a group: which works better and at what price?

Individually, progress is about twice as fast, but pricier: roughly 300–800 hryvnias per hour versus 150–350 in a group. The working scheme: start individual to set the base, then a group for practice. For conversational language a group is even better — more people to talk to.

How many lessons until visible results?

Honest math: bringing a school subject up to solid level — 2–3 months at 2 lessons a week. Exam prep — a school year. A language from zero to solid A2 — 6–9 months of regular lessons. 'English in a month' promises are marketing, not methodology.

A private driving instructor or a driving school?

For a license the school is mandatory — it admits you to the exam. A private instructor adds driving hours on your or their car, typically 400–700 hryvnias per lesson. The most effective combo: the school's required minimum plus 10–15 extra hours with a private instructor on a car with your transmission type.
